National Childminding Week: Let’s Get Out and Play!
22nd – 27th March 2010
Childminders around the city and county will be demonstrating how they encourage their minded children to go out and play as much as possible. This is all part of National Childminding Week - a national week of fun activities which showcase quality childminding and encourage childminders and the children in their care to get out and about. All week, the Galway City & County Childcare Committee will be publicising the good, quality work done by Galway Childminders.
All childminders and their children are welcome to our usual playgroups listed below, as well as to special events which are taking place around the city and county. In particular, all childminders are asked to participate in Childminding Week by working with their children on a fun Garden Nature Trail. Children and their minders are to work in their outdoor play area to complete the sample Garden Nature Trail that was sent out to all Childminders this week. Childminders are asked to bring the material for display at Saturday’s Seminar on 27th March at the Carlton Hotel. A prize will be given for the most inspiring collection!
Quality Childminding means a commitment to continuous training – putting the children first in all aspects of their care. We hope to see all Childminders taking part in the events of Childminding Week, in particular Saturday’s free Seminar & Network Lunch, as a celebration of National Childminding Week.
Please contact our offices for further information and to book a place on the seminar. All other events are open to all childminders and their children.
